i picked my truck up 2 years ago today. I’ve burned 7500 gallons of fuel, 3000 operating hours, (300 idle) in 134,000 miles. My average fuel economy is just under 17.9mpg.
I’ve never had a Vehicle I’ve been so pleased with.
Wow that’s a lot of miles in two years. What do you use the truck for that you’ve put that many miles in two years? I thought I was high at 3000 a month.
I’m a field engineer for a rep firm that sells equipment to water and waste treatment plants in Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky. I don’t sit around much, work through the week and camp a lot on the weekends.
Good news Dave, !
Thanks for sharing, we don't always get good news in this day and age.
What tuner and tunes did you go with, if you don't mind me asking ?
Have you had any issues? My 2 year anniversary is coming up in 5 days. You win the most mileage award! I've had one issue, MIL with P0170 after changing the air filter at 12,000mi. Dealer flashed the ECM to the latest version and it hasn't returned.
I’ve not had too many issues. I had a plugged Def nozzle while on vacation pulling the TT through Buffalo, and the local dealer was very hospitable in resolving it (West Herr). It was enough of a scare (50 mile warning) to prompt me to delete even before the bumper to bumper expired. I went with Innovative for tunes, which I’ve been pretty happy with, except the exhaust brake, I feel they dropped the ball, it’s nowhere near as effective as before the delete. I’ve contacted their dealer who wants to charge me for updates even though other tuners offer them for free. I’ve just lived with it.
Besides that it’s been pretty good. I went 80k on the Michelin’s and I’ve got 50 on the Goodyear’s I replaced them with. I did replace the track bar and it’s ball joint to try and curb death wobble, but the new tires ultimately is what it took.
Other than that just a lot of motocraft 10w30 and air, oil, and fuel filters!

Wow. That's a ton of mileage. Good stuff. I thought my truck at just shy of 36k miles at just less than 2 years was a decent amount. I stand corrected. My 2 year anniversary is January 2nd. I love driving my truck to work more than work itself.

You were in my neck of the woods.
What exact tunes do you run from them if you don't mind? What is your daily driver tune? Thanks.
There were 4 tunes in my package. Tow, Street, Hot Street, and Race. I’ve played around with all, but run in the street. My TT is under 6000lbs, so I don’t worry about towing with the street tune. Neither street or tow gives me any smoke to speak of - at night with headlights there’s a little haze under WOT, but no different than any gasser would. The hot street gives a noticeable brief puff until the turbo spools up, even under normal easy driving when you roll into the throttle like while merging. The race is just stupid.
Yes, the Michelin’s were the stock that came on the 18” lariat wheels, and I replaced them with the stock Goodyear’s (Kevlar wranglers) that came on the 2017’s.
Thanks for the input on the Innovation tunes. It's for future reference for me.
The 18 inch Michelins have to be better than the 20s because I had to change out my OEM tires before winter this year. They had just shy of 34k miles and were rotated every 5k. The tread was low and still good for summer driving so I think I'll put them back on to run them completely out when spring rolls around.
