F-450 fuel capacity verified

I verified exactly how much usable fuel is in the 48 gallon f-450 tank. When you hit 0 miles left you have exactly 3 gallons of fuel left. With some quick math you too can coast into the gas station with the engine unable to do more than maintain an idle. At this point she took 48 gallons.

Awesome, good to know! I was wondering this the other day. Had 30 miles until empty and only got 42 gallons. Clicked off just under 41 and I kept topping it off to get 42

My 350 is even closer than that. I’ve put 47 gallons in and it showed 2 miles to empty. I quite regularly put 46 gallons in and it will show in the low teens left to empty. I hate stopping for gas so I am usually waiting until I’m in the teens to empty or less before I stop.

Yours is definitely calibrated differently then mine. Im
hoping running it to dead empty will change its low end set point. We will see.

now that I have the Titan 55Gal diesel fuel tank I’d be happy with any ability to get the new tank DTE recalibrated. ( other then forscan)

F-350 PSD with 55 gallon titan fuel tank

SO JUST PUT 1000Km (600mi) on the rig. DTE showd 3km TIL empty and 1/16-1/8 on the fuel gauge. Liometer read 16L/100Km. (Actual was 18.2 L/100Km) Took 183.574 liters (48.488 gal) so that leaves 24.623 Liters (6.5 Gal) as my reserve capacity. This sound about right for a non recalibrated 55 gallon tank?

Why not with Forscan? Can dealer do it?

Wish you were close to south Texas. I would hook you up.

Here are the codes you need to change (from the spreadsheet). Maybe there is a for scanner in Canadia?

Change Fuel Tank Size IPC720-03-01 xxx* **xx xxxx xxx* **xx xxxx. Change asterisks to one of the following: 4 4A=30 Gal, 5 07=34 Gal, 5 EA=40 Gal, 7 19=48 Gal, 7 65=50 Gal, 8 22=55 Gal (This parameter is programmed to accept 4 digit Liters in this format XXX.x 55gal converts to liters of 208.198L so 208.2L rounded then drop the decimal 2082 decimal to HEX equal 822.)KYLongRifleMultiple Confirmations

thankx. I’ll continue to look here and maybe I’ll find someone in Maine who can do it.
