I have just converted my 6.9 to the 7.3 glow plugs, zd9 beru all new, new glow plug relay and the wts light does not work. if I send a 12 volts to the wire for the wts light going from the relay to the dashboard, it lights up, so the bulb is good. I have two glow plug relays and neither triggers the wts light, I was just thinking if the relay actually triggers the ground for the wts to light up, as there is nothing comming off the blue wire on the relay. Brand new NAPA echlin relay. Also the relay starts clicking after good 15+ seconds with ambient temp 25-30 F.

i have never trusted the WTS light. i run my own light hooked to the output of the relay going to the glow plugs.
on the older trucks it was a small 12 volt light bulb, but i have since converted all the trucks to a small led bulb.
if the light is on, the glow plugs are getting power.
so what i do is wait for the light to go from solid to flickering, then start. pretty much the same as the WTS light works, except the WTS light does not flicker when the relay cycles.

 

Ok, the wire coming from the relay triggers ground for the wts light, so converting from 6,9 actually means to rewire the light. I want to get a power to the relay through the temp switch for high idle,cold advance to eliminate working the glowplugs when hot.
