coolant crossover leak
coolant crossover leak
hello my name is cody and I am new to this. unfortunately my 05 f150 5.4L 3V has driven me to the point of reaching out for help desperately for this truck is my life line, my money maker, my familys only reliable transportation. I have a bad coolant leak coming from the coolant crossover like underneath the thermostat housing unit. basicly im asking if the coolant crossover pipe replacement is difficult and or what size sockets would I need???/ any advice is greatly appreciated.
I know on the 2v modular motors, it was an integral part of the intake manifold. Pretty sure it is not the same for these motors. You'll need some metric sockets, intake manifold gaskets, RTV/the right stuff, fresh coolant, probably a new thermostat (as long as you are in there...). I found this on Ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-2005-2010-FORD-F150-F250-5-4L-Coolant-Crossover-Pipe/163256140940?fits=Year%3A2005%7CModel%3AF-150%7CMake%3AFord&epid=1822251288&hash=item2602d30 48c:g:WaMAAOSwfa9Zsr4N:sc:FedExHomeDelivery!83328! Looks like it comes with everything you need, other than tools and fluids.

you better check into this.. On the older pre 2004 motor, you have to pull the intake manifold off to replace the cross over. The crossover bolts onto the BOTTOM of the intake..... Not difficult, but not for beginners.
this is the older manifold, but will show you the problem.
