That's one thing that p!sses me off, CA doesn't require vehicle safety inspections.
People can drive with maypop tires, brakes down to the rivets, loose suspension and steering, burned out bulbs, etc. and CA doesn't give a hoot.
L/A, Orange, Riverside and San Berdoo counties have more vehicles than 46 of the 50 states...combined.
And as bad as the drivers are, when it rains, they are worse. Thank heavens it hasn't snowed in the L/A basin since September 1949!
Bad part about our inspections is that there's no DMV inspection stations so we have to go to privately owned garages to get inspections done and they ALWAYS find reasons to fail.....unless, of course, you pay them exorbitant amounts of money to "repair" everything! It's usually less hassle and cheaper to just pay the failure to inspect tickets when your police avoidance luck runs out hahaha
Ok so got the air cleaner temp sensor 9E607, temp vacuum switch 9A995, cold weather modulator 9E862 and 2 delay valves 9E897 today. Now how the H E double hockey sticks do I route the lines going to them? I know a line goes from the air cleaner temp sensor to the snorkel flapper with a delay in between but that's as far as I know. Make matters worse, two different size vacuum line I.D.s are needed. Truck is non California 11/76 351M C6 4x2 non evap tank non smog pump.
Here's what I'm working with. The small plugged length of hose at the tee above the stove pipe was connected to the flapper in the snorkle when I got the truck so I was just getting stove air all the time so I disconnected and plugged it. Other ends of the tee are going to a single port intake manifold barb in front of the carburator and the coffee can.
If you look close, there's a vacuum tree back of the motor. One line going to the brake booster and the other to the, I guess, EGR curcuit. Looks like there's two capped ports.
Went kicking around a small junkyard up the road today to see if I could get some of my vacuum questions answered. No luck the 3 dentsides that were there were picked clean of pretty much everything. I did score this fresh air duct that was laying in the back of a chevy van though. Wouldnt ya know, the voltage regulator was right in the way so rerouted the wires back by the heat blower motor.
