Whelen is now making a bracket that mounts to the CHMSL on our trucks. contact strobesnmore.com I believe they are selling them.
unfortunately it's near identical to the acari roof mount that I am trying to get away from. Want something low profile that makes truck look less like a work truck.
There has been some great options posted I will be looking into.
After having a Whelen magnetic mount amber strobe on the roofs of my last 2 trucks in winter storm situations, I sold it when I bought the aluminum SD. I don't have a video at the moment, but I went this time with a Z Flash OBD module from Ultra Bright Lightz. I no longer have any interest in adding auxiliary lighting hardware to my truck. That much more to strip off and deal with at trade time. https://www.ultrabrightlightz.com/z-...QaAiXYEALw_wcB
So far it appears to do what it's advertised to do. The module can be plugged into the computer to update and activate/inactivate certain lights. It's also now Mac compatible for this operation.
My only uses are if there is some sort of reason to stop on the side of the road for any length of time, winter snow storms or backing a trailer in from the road so that I'm that much more visible to others. I've never checked to see if the trailer lights flash along with the truck tail lights when the module is in use.
Does your back up camera go on and off with the z flash obd adaptor since it activates the reverse lights. I emailed them and they said it does on some models and they can’t fix it.

I haven't delved into it that deep yet. Worth looking into for sure.
So have you tried the z flash yet? Do you have sync 3 with larger screen to see if it goes on and off?
Plugged it in once and tried it. Walked around the truck and all seemed to be flashing as it should.
Edit:
Just went out and tested it again. It works as it should. No camera or screen flashing. Apparently this site has some sort of problem with me posting any kind of imagery. I tried to post a video with a correct extension. The file would show but the option to upload never happens. Yesterday I tried to post a photo. It would stop at the 50% point and then that window would disappear. I've never had that problem in the past.

Reason: Add video
Installing my 55" code 3 excalibur (5 rotor, rear flashers front and side spot lights) light bar in coming days. Had on my 14 f150 and loved it. Mounts to my back rack, and wired to be pulled off easy for car washes, or carry ladders or unistrut ect on back rack. Upfitter switches will make alot easier to install.

These newer warning lights are more of a glow, and not as far-reaching, more of a line-of-sight warning light...then once the truck is in view they both pretty-much even out with identifying the truck.
Does anybody use them?
Got my lightbar on. Was going to get a new led one, but for 1500 bucks this one's still very bright and powerful so I can wait. The upfitter switches made installation tit.
