I just put these on my truck a couple thousand miles ago. So far they are quiet and handle very well. At first I put the 285s on the factory wheels and to me it felt like the sidewall was pretty weak. The wheels in the picture are 8.5 in wide and the tire feels very stable underneath of the truck. On my last super duty I had the Cooper ATP tire and after about ten thousand miles the tire was very noisy. Also the tread pattern does not wear very well, the front tires seem the cup (front end components were all very tight and I rotate my tires every oil change).

I agree, my last set I swapped out at 45k and still had plenty of tread left and they are quiet and great traction. Much better than the Michelin LTX AT-2's I had before, I had 2 of them fail and Michelin had to pay for the damage they caused (2800.00) to my truck, I caught the second one before it separated..

Had Michelins on my new 2011 SD, gone after 26k miles, total junk. Put cheapo BF Goodrich junk on it to sell it.

Im on my second set of Coopers on the EX. Got 50K out of the first set. I drive the hell out of my truck so the tires and sway bar bushings take a beating. I will be using Coopers until they stop making them. Great tire wet, dry, mud, snow, frogs, gravel....whatever. In fact, I think its about time to rotate. May be time for shocks too. Thats a whole other thread.....

I always hear the BF's, Nitto and Toyo buyers coming with that super loud hum from the silly aggressive tread patterns (usually on a Dodge, lol). Cant hear the exhaust over the tires. The coopers are fairly quiet.

I've had Michelin tires on all my cars and even on the EX so far. My previous EX was riding on Continental for a few months before I sold it and I had no regrets with those tires. Going with General Grabber HTS for a change this time on the new to me 20" wheels. Tires came in last night and will be mounted this weekend. I'll provide an update on how they perform after a few months of usage. I have read good reviews on these tires. So, hopefully, I won't regret the decision

If you don't mind my asking, what kind of wheels are those? They look good.

I've got the Michelin LTX on my 2000 6.8L 4x4 Ex and have been extremely happy with them. It's primarily a highway and boat ramp vehicle. The tires handle very well on the road with no whine and give me enough traction that I can get my 20' boat and the Ex in and out of any boat ramp that I've encountered.

I'm leaning toward the Michelin DEFENDER LTX M/S tires for mine.

REVO, REVO, REVO....... I really like the Firestone A/T and Bridgestone A/T for all terrains I deal with, especially snow. Wear has been pretty good and the noise is pretty minimal.

Over the years I've had general grabber at2s on most every truck I've owned. I have Mickey Thompson Deegan 38 AT's on my excursion now and have been very happy with traction and price. Not positive I would go with the mickey thompsons again though. For the price they are fantastic, great traction, quiet enough, and good life out of them so far.

We don't deal with things like snow and ice down here so I think you'll be happy with them. I've even driven the Ex through sugar sand and as long as it doesn't bottom out there's enough traction to pull her through.

And, as I have an Android head unit, I picked up
this TPMS kit from Amazon this TPMS kit from Amazon
. It has the internal sensors that are said to have about 5 year battery life.
