Adaptive Steering??

So my 2019 f350 says it has adaptive steering on the window sticker..but How do i physically check if i do have it? Im only asking because i did not have it on my 2017 F250 and I cant tell a difference in steering. My 2019 steering feels the same when turning.

The adaptive steering is a motor and gearbox inside the steering wheel housing
At low speeds it will decrease the amount of turns to go lock to lock.
It is so seamless you cant relly tell.
I thought I was getting really good at baking up my dump trailer till I figured out it was the Adaptive staring letting me turn so much quicker.
I think there is a external hump on the back side of where the AS motor mounts.
Google "how does the ford super duty adaptive starting work."
You should find more info and some videos

Yeah, I got 10K miles on my truck and have thought, in passing, a few times about the steering. I can not tell any difference at all while driving. Of course, when I am backing a trailer or something I have my mind on other things, like not hitting stuff, to worry about the steering wheel position (I worry about the tires position). All I know is that the new truck drives tighter than my old one with 250K on it, duhhh! Then my mind wonders to all the other crap going on........

I believe if it was not working you would get a message on your dash info center. It is pretty seamless, but I believe it works with your tow haul mode also, I'm not sure if it stiffens up the steering for more control. Check your owner's manual or google Ford adaptive steering for a description.

It’s seamless. If your steering wheel isn’t upside down and your dash isn’t going crazy it’s working.

If you switch your truck to the “off road” display that shows steering angle, you can better judge how it is behaving.
At full stop, if you have adaptive steering, one full revolution will turn the wheels 26 degrees. Without adaptive steering it will be more like 20 degrees.

if you have the jewels to do it, and a large open space, you can also drive a slollom pattern going forward, starting from stopped and accelerating over 30 mph. As you accelerate weave back and forth by turning the steering wheel to 45 degrees. You will notice be able to tell when the ratio adjusts.

It's very obvious when you don't have it and then drive a truck that does. My truck does not. My dads does. whenever I drive his rig in a parking lot, it's very clear that the adaptive motor is engaged.

If you want to be sure you have it period, just remove your airbag. You'll see the motor (it's the cylinder in the bottom of the steering wheel in the below pic). This pic is from the Raptor steering wheel swap thread:
