Cracked head repair methods
Anyone tried the Accurate Diesel method that uses a different cup?
I know of a truck in the area for sale, lot of recent work including all new OEM remans, that is now leaking fuel into the coolant.
Looking for another project truck and if I can get it bought right......local dealer diagnosed as a bad cup(s)
Not even sure the head is cracked, maybe just the cup itself or a bad o ring. Would be a good one for learning a new procedure.
I do know DTR has done both methods in his videos.
Personally the kit that replaces the lower body of the injector seems to be a more sure repair. Ultimately I'd just replace the head(s).
Yes, new head(s) are the best bet.
That said, some of these trucks are not worth the time and investment anymore due to body condition, etc.
If it was my own and worth the money? For sure.
This would be a project truck.
I've pinned cracked heads before on gassers.
One job was an old 69 Electra 430 c.i. with over 200k miles.
Both heads lit up like a christmas tree under the black light. They turned out great.
Granted, it didn't have an 18 to 1 CR either
