Any idea's on hooking up my battery tender? I want to mount the pig tail with the plug permanent, but the eye's will not work on the newer style battery clamps.Thinking of using self taping screws on the clamps. Any other thoughts?
Thanks Mike
I would not use a screw. What exactly is the issue, the terminal ends on the BT cord too small for the bolts on the battery cable? If so cut them off and install larger terminal ends. Good luck...
I didn't have any issues. I put the ring terminals on the existing bolts for the battery terminal clamp. I did cut the cord, inserted some wiring to lengthen the cord so I could run it by the side of the radiator and have the terminal come out through the bumper by the tow ring. Since stuff is mostly black down there, the terminal is largely hidden.
I don't have any mounting bolts on my battery clamps. There is a small bolt the tightens from the side.My engine is a 6.7, wonder if it's different clamp for the diesel. Yours is the clean set up I'm looking for.

The picture above looks just like my 2017 F-250 6.7 diesel. Maybe the F-350s are different.
) and ran the connection down the frame all the way to the back of the truck....
I back into our driveway/parking - and have the battery maintainer run under our garage door....I back up to the garage door and plug in the batter maintainer.
If you look closely at the right side battery cabe (in the photo), you will see a stud / bolt and nut installed from the factory in the positive battery cable. I drilled a hole in the left side (negative) cable and installed a similar stud /bolt and nut, then connected my charger leads to the studs.
How long are you guys leaving ur trucks abandoned?! I do love the BTs and have about 10 on various bikes, lawn equipment, and show cars, but my DD? Just thinking out loud.

I have a plow truck that sits for weeks at a time. I mounted a battery tender in the engine bay. Then the AC plug is joined together with the block heater. That way I just run a normal AC extension cord out and both items are powered up.
Somehow the pictures aren't showing for me so I can't see what the problem is. On my gas engine 2019 F250 I put the ring terminals on the bolt that tightens the clamp.
Not to hi-jack this thread but are you wiring the battery tender to both batteries? If so, would there be any issues with the wires going between the batteries when not connected to a battery tender? Just wondering.

No need to wire it like that. The batteries are connected in parallel.

Its not necessary to wire both batteries - the batteries are wired in Parallel.
You could remove one battery completely (and as long as the charge wire is connected to the batter cables - the maintainer would continue to charge the one remaining battery....BUT WHY???
The whole point of the Battery Maintainers (battery tender or battery minder, brands) is so that you dont (ever) have to disconnect the batteries to maintain them!
