Valve cover oil cap

So what are you fellas doing when you get the dreaded ratcheting noise that accomplishes nothing.this is the third OBS that I've had that has this problem. Ive just ripped of the top portion of the cap off and ran it that way.EDIT- Last 2 were 302's

I had the same problem and I bought a Motorcraft oil cap replacement. Hasn't happened again.

I went to the junkyard and grabbed a couple caps and just swapped them. The junkyard didn't even charge me anything for them.
