Landed our "02 Excursion, V10 yesterday, 133K, pretty happy so far. A purchase thru an insurance auction site. Pressing issue the truck had no keys when we got it. Is there an easy solution to get a key other than going thru a locksmith?
You can try your local Ford Dealership, but I bet the locksmith would be cheaper. I don't know if the locksmith can get the key chip to work with out another key.
Recently, I bought a couple of blanks from Amazon, and then had my local dealer cut and program the keys for me. I had some other major repair work done at the dealer at that time and they did not charge me anything extra for this service.
