Their installation video indicates you will need to make cutouts for seat mounts, center console, etc and perhaps even trim because the new carpet may be oversized.
The video also mentioned a "Cut & Sewn" option that has the cutouts already and should be a direct fit, but that seems limited to certain vehicles. https://www.stockinteriors.com/Install.asp
My carpet is from ACC, I bought it from RockAuto. It fit pretty well but still required some trimming as should be expected. Definately pay extra for the mass backing, if you don't the carpet with feel thin and cheap. It also provides some noise insulation.
Good to know. I figured there may be some trimming involved, but seeing as how they have "options" for whatever your truck might be, it seems to me they'd go ahead and cut things out!
I will keep my old one as an overlay to mark the holes as needed then I guess.
This week I'll be making some new sill plates out of aluminum up at the shop.

Yeah, keep the old one and use it as a template. The reason they have options for what your truck is because the 4x4 and stick shift trucks have a bigger hump over the transmission tunnel. They don't cut anything out, you have to do all that yourself.

Really? When I did my auto to manual swap, the trans tunnel cover between the auto and the manual was the exact same size. The manual cover just had the cutout for the shifter.
4x4 shifter cover plate is on the side of the tunnel, and that looked no different than the '89 my ZF5 and 1356 came out of, nor did the rest of the trans tunnel.
Perhaps the larger humps are for the '80-86 trucks?
In fact, when I did the clutch replacement on the '94 5-speed IDI, it looked identical to my '96 which had started off life as an auto.

Maybe I'm mistaken but my understanding was that if a truck came with 4x4 and/or a manual transmission, it got the larger transmission cover. The smaller hump transmission covers only came on 2wd automatic trucks. I think this was the same for 80-96.

Wonder if it was based on motor then. Larger bellhousing for the big blocks might have demanded larger humps that were identical between gas and diesel versus the small blocks and straight 6?
