Pele....GREAT tip about the green wire from the multi-function switch.
Off topic alert: a friend was working on the taillights for his Cougar. I was surprised to see that it was a small motor with a "cam" on the shaft which activated 3 lever switches as it rotated. I guess that was hi-tech in the '60s...

This is very interesting. I did the add a bulb trick to my current lamps....that small top pocket. Found out that a standard bulb gets way too hot for the small space and slightly melted my tail lamps. I have a new pair just havent had the time for the project. To mitigate the melting, I now have LED's in the top pocket.
I like the yellow signal idea. May have to alter my project. Thanks for the info!!
FYI, I have LED's in the front, all white lenses, but it changes to yellow for signal then back to white for marker.

Well, I looked. In the picture, you can see where we put the Hoppy adapter, but without pulling it apart, I can't see where we connected the wires. I do remember that it was working with the relays that handle the trailer brake lights and signals. I did this when the truck was almost new, so I just can't remember details.
Anyhow...perhaps worthless, but here's a pic of where its mounted. I do know that the white wires are grounds.

Thanks for that procedure for the yellow turn signals !
I am German car guy, and I think the yellow turn signals are a lot more visible and easier to see..
Since you seem to be knowledgeable about some the the wiring on these rigs..
I would like to put courtesy lights in the front driver and passenger foot wells that turn on with the other courtesy lights.
any chance you know where to tap into that circuit ?
thanks greg.. 2001 EX
