So as I was installing the Husky floor mats, I see the AMP power steps are plugged into the OBD port under the steering wheel. So is that the only one? If so I would probably need the AMP pass-through harness so I can hook into for Forscan?
You can either simply unplug the AMP steps while using FORScan or if you plan to leave your adapter in the truck all of the time check out the ODB pass-through from AutoMeter (part# 5323) as it is about half the cost.
why would a factory option be installed through the OBD port?
The correct answer was provided already. Just to clarify, the steps that YOU have are aftermarket, not factory. The steps I have are factory and do not need to connect to the OBD port.

Yes, that`s the only one so you`ll have to buy the harness. i`ve also seen a harness that acts as a splitter so you`ll have one going into the port and it`ll have two additional ports for for a scanner and in your case, the AMP PowerStep plug.
