Yep. AMP will tell you they are the same. AMP does make a version that drops a bit lower if it's a concern, bur that's more for lifted trucks as the stock height works perfectly.

the aftermarket step for amp
is the one that drops lower?
i have amp steps on my lifted gmc I am just curious if they come down the same length.
Chris, AMP should have two versions that fit the truck: the standard (same as the OEM Ford steps) and the XL version that drops 3" lower than standard.
I ordered the power steps with my F-350 because A) they're cool B) they make the truck look better and most importantly C) they extend down further than the non-powered steps. I measured them at the drive event last fall against the non-powered steps and the extended height sealed the deal for me. My wife is 5'4" and complained a lot about getting into my Nissan Titan (stock height). She already complimented the F-350 saying that it was a lot easier to get into despite being a taller truck.
Thanks bud I'm trying to decide what is the best course. I will be lifting the truck with a 6 inch lift and that's why im asking if the factory powered steps come down enough or if the amp xl which I just researched is better
My opinion, but on a 6" lift, I'd do the AMP XL steps, though it may end up costing a bit more unless you can order without any steps from the factory.
