Recently swaped my 351 in and got it running good. I posted before I got the engine and was told the actual tach is the same but there's a wiring change. I've looked through all wiring diagrams available to me and can't find the change.
Is there a write up or any information on were this wiring change is by chance?
I swapped the 300 six with a 351 earlier this year into my '95 F150; prior to the swap I had swapped the standard no tach instrument cluster with a '95 Lightning 120 mph cluster with tach. It worked fine with my six then and now with the 351 swap, it still works and I didn't have to do any rewire.....

I second this. I've swapped clusters all around with no issues.

Yes you have to ground pin #10 for a V8 and leave it ungrounded for a I6 for it to work right (accurate).
This is grounded (jumped) at C250 pin #7 to pin #10.
You did not state the year so I will post for a 1992 F-series.
I forgot to mention but it is 1990! My cluster is in good shape short of a random oil pressure wiggle, more so when my headlights are on. Thanks for the info! I'm probably gonna get a hei plug so I can get that done soon!
