engine swap, factory tach?
Hi,
I have an '85 F150 which has the tach in the center of the instrument cluster. I am swapping from a 351 V8 to a 300 I6.
Will there be any issues with the tach? I was told it possibly won't read correctly, is there any way to fix that?

I have heard there is a jumper on the tach that you need to take out or install. It will read wrong, since the v8 fires 4 times per rev, while the 6 only fires 3. Take it out and look at it. I have never done it before, so if it's not obvious, I am sure someone else on here has done it before.
