With my old GMC and when towing my boat and staying overnight at a hotel, I’d pop the fuse block cover under the hood and pull the ignition key relay, even though there was a factory alarm system. Figured the boat was a real theft magnet (I’d also padlock and chain the rear wheels on the boat trailer and used locking pins on the hitch).

Yep! Here's an old post of mine with a couple links to related threads. I removed my driver's door lock cylinder & installed the Jimmi-Jammers. That won't stop someone from breaking the glass. A good fail safe is to add a hidden switch that disables the fuel pump. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post17527996
On Lariat and above trims there is a way to use stock alarm to monitor a tool box, tonneau or camper shell.
PM me for details.
I just don’t want it coming up in searches.
Chevy's (older ones) and Subaru's get stolen here like crazy. I don't see too many Super Duties because the factory theft deterrents are pretty stout. The weakness is that getting into them is easy. I'll second removing the door lock cylinder and putting Jimmi Jammers in. The only time my truck was broken into they did it thru the driver door cylinder, which set off the alarm. But they had enough time to go through the truck. Keep using the locking hitch pins, chaining boat trailer tires, etc... It all makes yours look less appealing to steal. I also used to put on "smash and grab" resistant tint as well. Helps make the window less easy to break - but the trade off is - that's it's harder to break and if you end up in water the easier way to get out via a broken window using a center punch doesn't work...
