Brake issues!

Good morning, everyone! My truck's rear brakes have issues. The drum does not cover all the way to the backing plate on the driver's side. I think it has the wrong rear backing plates as well. Can anyone tell from the pictures what's wrong?

Date code, Am I correct 9/1/1964?

4J1 = Assembled September (J) 1, 1964. Would have originally been installed in a 1965.

Number Dummy, mine is a 4 wheel drive

Number Dummy, mine is a 4 wheel drive. I pulled the axles today to try to figure out what's going on with the brakes. Someone replaced the driver's side backing plate with a later model one. The passenger side I think is correct but the bottom is ground off like it lost an axle at some point. There's no number on the original one. Do you know what the numbers for the 4 wheel drive backing plates are? I appreciate your help!

B9TT-2211-A Right & B9TT-2212-A Left .. Rear Brake Backing Plates / Obsolete

1959/65 F100 4WD // 1966 is different and there are two different types.

What's the difference Number Dummy?

Hi, do you know what the difference is? Can I use ones from a 2 wheel drive on my truck? Why would they be different? Are the rears different for 4 wheel drive?

I don't have a clue what the difference is, all I know is...that the part numbers are different.

If you have any further questions, make sure you mention the year of your truck, the series and that it has 4WD

You failed to mention any of this jazz, until you said it had 4WD in post # 9.

There is s small chance the axle has started to come off the bearing. I have had this happen to Ford 9" axles, though mine came ALL the way out.
