And this is why I don’t post that much on this group cause of the misinformation from the people thinking “if it’s better Ford would had done it” mentality. To many old timers in this group thinking stock is the only way and has to be the best way cause “ford did it that way”. I’m sure you think swapping the stock innercooler for a aftermarket one and the stock CAC plastic pipe for a aftermarket one that doesn’t blow is wasted money.
Because it has been proven, independently, for a REALLY long time now, that a CAI is worthless. It has nothing to do with Ford, It has everything to do with how modern engines are designed, the role of MAF sensor and computer control. If you like the "sound" of a CAI go for it, as many have said its your truck and we all buy stuff that we don't need
But in terms of "improving" anything, sorry that has just blatantly false. Spend 10 minutes on google and either you believe the data or you don't.
All the reading i did on them for these trucks and all the manufactures flow better none stated any HP in just that they flowed 50% better. I believe they do but like was said where's the dyno numbers? Strokin keeps saying it does but lets see the dyno results. I wish Banks made stuff for our trucks. Friend just did the Banks intake on his new chevy. The dyno numbers were better only reason he did it. it was something goofy like 25 HP they gained.
Stroking aren't you on your second engine in your new truck?
yes I am cause Ford did a crappy design to have a pressed on crank gear. But hey they put so much money in these engines to get the most power and reliability out of them. Pssssh yea right.
and my truck is nearly two years old so I wouldn’t say it’s new.

If you substitute "cold air intake" with "***** enlargement pump" and the HP and Torque number with length and girth, you have the same marketing at work.
If you buy my Widget, you'll instantly go faster, get 3 mpg better fuel mileage, pass every other truck in the mall parking lot, every blonde with big t!ts will want to ride in it & your vision will improve. Kinda sounds like the same thing, doesn't it?
I want what most want. More power. I don’t really care about the high end but I would love to eventually see a 20% increase over stock Trq. I travel for work with my wife and son. We are full time in a camper (upgrading to 5th wheel later). Depending on our total load out I’d tather not have to worry about driving 15-20mph up a 9-12% grade. Any increase in HP is of course fine with what comes in trq gains. I plan on a programmer/tuner of course. Exhaust, CAI (if it is worth the money), possibly bigger turbos down the road, who knows... the options are essentially limitless

LOL! I have to hold mine BACK when pulling my trailer up a hill. It's a BEAST. Seriously, mine has plenty of power and I really like how quiet it is. I had a CAI on my prior half ton truck. Pulling uphill? Forget having a conversation.
We are talking about the 6.7L diesel engine, right?
