I would definately say that you should go with the long bed. I have the short bed, but it was a daily driver, so the difference in the turning radius is very nice. But, if I had it to do all over again, I would get the long bed. As long as you remember that you have the bigger turning radius, and remember that it is easier to back into a parking spot, you'll be very happy with the long bed. I had one for a service loaner, and it was great!
I vote for the LB too. But I see more SB than LB seems like. And, aren't the SB rated to carry more weight? Don't mean to bring everybody back to earth here or rain on the parade. I guess the the smaller tank and less metal allows you to just carry more. I forget what the difference was but it did seem like almost twice as much.

I vote SHORT. I always being told to not worry, "It's not the length that matters, but how you use it."
My shortbed is easier to back into spaces, I have a Hidden-Hitch 5th wheel hitch with 12" slider and a 36 foot RV with extended hitch neck and it works just fine. I like the short-bed look and manueverability better. The F250 shortbed is 6-ft. 10-inches. That's that's all the length I need to DRIVE it.
Oh yeah ... no matter what you get ... ABSOLUTELY get the back-up sensors. Man is that a useful feature when backing into a parking space. I have never hit anything (knock on wood).
That all depends on what you do with it. I use mine for hunting fishing camping and the odd trip to the dump.I got the short box because its easier to turn in the bush. A buddy has a longbox and goes all the same places just has to go backwards and forwards a few more times to make a tight corner or turn around. You dont high center as easycoming out if cross ditches. Its just more manoverable off road when things get tight.
The down side is your limited to what size camper you can put in the back or if you put a tool box in the back you won,t have alot of room left. As for ride, My 99 F350 sc/sb psd 4x4 rides great on the highway/around town and just as well doing 80km/h up a logging main.
Hope your happy with whatever you pick.

I've got the short bed CrewCab and am happy with it. It works for everything I need it too and I appreciate the tighter turn radius...was in a long bed once in Dallas...got into a corner and had to do a 52 point turn around to get back out....
If you haul ANYTHING of size, lumber, logs, fire wood, ect...
you will love the 8' box. The turning you get used to, but don't
always like, but oh well.
Big the biggest plus is...... gentleman I'm surprised you
haven't touched on this WAY up top.
Your wife won't want to drive it because it's too big ;-)
