I have a 92 f150 302 with AOD tranny, does not slip in any gears but it does shift hard when going into OD not all the time, more so after it gets warm. Is there any adjustment I might do not really bad enough to really worry. Oh if I drive in D and then shift to OD it does not shift as rough. Also recently changed plugs cap rotor, wires and new kn air filter.
thanks Steve
I have the same exact problem on my 89 bronco. I posted pretty much the same question. Must be an uncommon problem cause I didn't get a reply either. Maybe putting it back on top might help.
The only adjustment that I know about on the AOD is the TV cable. throttle Valve. Hooks beside the trottle cable. Do a search on the web for ford aod to get info on how to set them. I think TCI has info on them as well.
That's all I know without going into the valvebody. I just installed a Performance Automatic street/strip in my AOD and am real happy with it so far. #rd gear is kind of hard but at least I can stand on it now without 1st to 2nd taking forever to slip into gear.
