Dog bones

This has probably been asked before...can upside down dog bones in 1992 302 (f150) cause oil drain back...am experiencing clatter at startup after a few hours. Oil pressure then climbs to 50 psi and quiets down...new pump, checked screen, two new wix filters. This thing is makin me nutz.

Lifter dogbones? If so then no they aren't part of the pressurized oil system. Startup clatter is usually an oil filter thing, try a different filter.. something with a metal backdrain valve.

Wix Gold is about as good as it gets with a metal drainback valve. Unfortunately, that is the only check valve in the SBF Windsor oiling system. Past getting hold of several bad Wix filters, loose lifter to lifter bore clearance could be the culprit but not likely. I'm out of ideas here so I'll let someone else step in and take a shot at it.
