I have a 94 f150 302 5 speed. My check engine light is one and giving me 11 codes (112, 117,122, 1266, 327, 513, 552, 553, 556, 558, 565,). I've removed the PCM and repaired 3 blown capacitors. This did not solve the issue. I've replaced the TPS sensor and ran diagnostics on the IAT sensor, MAP sensor, inspected the PCV, Idle air control sensor....none of these seem to be or fix the issue. Truck will start but idles incredibly rough, excessive gas consumption, can't get enough power to shift into second gear. Is my PCM fried? I'm out of ideas....Thanks in advance for any input
Nobody could say for sure without hands on testing of your module but chances are other components on the circuit board have been damaged by the corrosive contents of those electrolytic caps.
alright, in your opinion, would it be best to purchase a refurbished PCM replacement? and if i did, other than matching up the part number, is there any other useful information that goes into selecting a specific replacement or will the local auto part store have what i need?
code 513 is replace PCM (internal failure) If buying locally all I gave them was the code on the old PCM. Then read the description of it to make sure. I have bought two Cardone PCM's and they have been just fine. I went with O'Riley because they have a one year warranty and I can get a replacement in a day as opposed to sending it off. Not saying a PCM is your issue but it sure seems to be. Sandy

513 could also mean the 5v vref is being shorted out somewhere on the truck, that vref feeds the internal computer and sensors, before condemning the pcm I would unplug every sensor that uses vref (3 wire sensors) and see if it comes back up to 5V, TPS, MAP, EGR maybe others I’m forgetting.
DTC 513 indicates that the internal voltage of the PCM is not in specification.
Possible causes:
-- Battery voltage is too low.
-- Damaged PCM.
Key on, engine off.
Measure voltage across battery terminals.
Is voltage greater than 10.5 volts?
Yes
