It dawned on me that some Early 99 owners will now have owned their trucks for 20 years. Anyone here? I have to wait until the first week of Feb for my 20 year truckiversary.
I am always impressed by how contemporary the 99 Super Duty still looks. If you see one in great shape and not beat up, you would think its just a few years old. Now that the manufacturers have finally gotten over the ever expanding grill wars, our trucks are looking really good again. The latest F150's grills are pretty similar to ours in general proportion and shape.
August was my 18th anniversary owning my 2000. Hopefully Someday, I’ll be done with the payments. This month’s payment will go to Sam Wyse for a trans.
I’ve had mine for 2 years build date of 8/98, it needed serious TLC when I got it but through FTE and the friends I’ve made here and of course a thick wallet it’s running strong with 379K.
Got mine, 09/98. So over twenty years for me. Just put air bags on it yesterday. Been a good truck except for the transmission. Thought I had that licked once, but that didn't work out. It's had it's share of 4x4 during hunting season over the years also. CC LB F350 DRW 4x4. 7.3L. Forgot, been the the dunes many many times each years. Towing trailer with toys.
I bought my '00 in 2007. It had ~150,000 miles on it when I bought it. ~342,000 miles on it now.

So true. I just had some guy in a parking lot ask me if it's a '16 or '17 model. His eyes popped when I told him it's a '00.
It feels like I've had my truck from new, 19k KM's on the clock when I bought it, but only a few years ago, it still looks & drives like new though & I'll never sell it.

It is definitely a sort of timeless design, so are the OBS if you ask me, maybe even more so. Vehicles with timeless design are few but one of my favorites are the Mercedes full size sedans from the eighties. I own a 1987 Mercedes 300 Turbodiesel and I still admire it's timeless look every time I walk past it. Here is my favorite. a 1987 SDL Tubodiesel (not mine). The SDL has the longer back doors with limo-style legroom in back.
