So being that the truck sat for about 2-1/2 years, I know I should probably change the tranny fluid and filter but, do you think that could be causing my transmission to shift wrong?
So I took the truck to my local tranny shop and the guy seems to think that the accumulator body in the transmission might have a broke spring and recommended that I install a shift kit, or take the accumulator body out and bring it to them and they can install the kit for me for $75. Does that sound correct? Is this a normal thing? And other than a fluid and filter change, is there anything else I need to do while I’m in there?
well my truck stalled on me today. I had to park it at a near by gas station till I got off work. So I went by ford and got an ICP sensor for $214.00.... knowing the icp in the truck was not a motor craft part I decided to replace it even if it didn’t fix the no start problem. Turns out my fuel pump relay for my e-fuel set up got some water in it and caused it to not have a good connection. After cleaning it and putting it back in the harness, I heard it click and knew it would start. When the truck fired up, my check engine light went away and my hard shift problem stopped immediately. Now I finally know what it’s like to drive an automatic 7.3 with no problems lol
