Is it possible to change the rear gears in my 95 f150 4x4 and change the front at a later time?
My truck has manual locking hubs and the 4wheel drive lever is in the floor. Nothing is electrical.
Just wanting to know if you can do that, assuming you don't use 4wd until the front is done.
I want to do this so I can make sure I'm putting the right gears in, before I do the front. It's alot of money to have to do over again if I'm not satisfied.
Yeah it is ok as long as you don't use the 4x4. Now my dad had a 78 Bronco and he changed the rear gears and left the front stock. He would drag race his Bronco if his drag car broke down. He used different grear ratios in the front/rear and never had a problem with it, there might have been damage but it never showed.
But to be safe I would say do it but DON'T USE 4x4, someone might have another opinion of this though, maybe even more expirenced than me.
