c6 long need c6 short
i bought a tranny on ebay, drove 5 hours to go get it, paid for it brought it home. today i dropped a vale cover nut under truck while putting on valve covers that now my rocker arms hit and now click to all get out. well while under my truck i notice i have the short rear on my c6, well the one i bought is of course the long rear c6. what can i do to fix this, can i switch the rears ? or am i pretty much having to look for another tranny ? in that case anyone wanna trade ?

Actually you don't need to find another tranny. I did the same thing, but I needed the long shaft and I had a short shaft. So I phoned the local tranny shop and found out that if you take the tranny apart you can switch the output shafts since there only difference is length out the end of the tranny. If you are not comfortable with taking the tranny apart or you don't have the facilities take the tranny to a tranny shop and let them do the switch because auto tranny's have to be super clean when put together.

except the reason i am switching is because the tranny itself has been abused, the ears have all been broke off and the holes are all stripped aND the spedo cable wont stay in and leaks like a sieve, so i poretty much want to junk the tranny i have, i am tired of cleanig the driveway
