The truck originally had a 302/C6.
Impossible!
No High Boy (1967/77 F250 4WD) was available w/a 302. Neither were 1977/79 F250 4WD's (not High Boys).

Excepting 1969/77 Bronco's, the 302 wasn't available in F150/250 4WD's until 1980.

302 not available with C6 until 1978, 2WD only thru 1979.

Hello NumberDummy, All I know is what I was told and its possible the Previous owner meant a C4 transmission. He rolled a car and his head was crushed (He wasn't the Sharpest Tool in the Shed) so I cant be 100% sure about what he told me about the 1971 F100. What he did tell me is that he took the front out from under a 1976 F250 2 Wheel Drive. along with the 390/C6 and put it under his Dad's 1971 F100. Yesterday I measured the Wheel Bases with my Son and there is Two inches Difference between the 1971 2 Wheel Drive 131 Inches and the 1975 F250 Highboy with 133 inches. So I will probably do some creative shifting in the Bed to compensate for the difference but again with the Tires I am going to be running on it, no one will ever know the difference when its all put together. Thanks again for your Wisdom on these old Trucks and the help you give.

NumberDummy,
This is the original Door from the 1971 F100 I bought From the Guy so this might help with what was actually in the truck Stock from the factory.. 302 with an (Auto Trans)? and a whole 148 HP. Raven Black and so on and so forth. Do you know if there is some where on the Frame (1975 Highboy) that the Original Vin would be stamped? I only ask because I know Chevy did but not sure if Ford also Stamped the frame with the Vin Code.

NumberDummy,
Here is the Number I found on the Frame Rail just where you told me it would be above. This is the Number I got off the Frame on the 1975 F250 Highboy. F26YCW90159. Thanks for the Breakdown above and All I have on this Frame is the Vin, I don't have the Door Plate. What I have been able to figure out is this is a F250 4X4 with a 360 Cubic inch FE. I was told that the Engine in the Frame was a 390 so I need to pull the Heads and check the Stroke to make sure of what I have. I love chasing numbers.

I was told that the Engine in the Frame was a 390 so I need to pull #1 spark plug and check the Stroke to make sure of what I have. I love chasing numbers.
F26 = F250 4WD Pickup.

Y = 360 2V

C = Oakville Ontario Canada Truck Assembly Plant.

W90159 = 1975.

1968/76 360/390 share the same block, the bore is the same (4.05"), the stroke is different: 360 = 3.50" // 390 = 3.78."

The 360 was the only V8 factory installed in 1968/76 F100/250 4WD's.

So yesterday I inquired about a Truck a guys got for sale close to where I live that's a Two Wheel Drive with a 7.3 IDI and an Automatic OD with 122K miles on it. I was wondering if anyone knew the difference between the 7.3 IDI and the 7.3 Turbo Powerstroke? I have driven a 1999 7.3 Powerstroke and was very impressed with the performance but I have never driven one with the IDI. This truck is a Driving Donor with everything I need to convert my 1975 Highboy Frame with my 1971 F100 Body on the Frame but I don't want to purchase that truck without knowing anything about the IDI Engine. Does anyone know the Differences between the IDI and the Newer 7.3?

Well I figured out which engine I am going to put in my 75 Highboy Frame along with the Transmission. I have found a Cummins 4BT actually its a newer model of the same 4BT that has 170 HP stock but with a P Pump and a S200 Turbo kit this engine will produce 300 to 350 RWHP with very little turbo lag and over 500 Ft Lbs of torque and hooked to that is a T1000 Allison Transmission. I think my 203 Transfer case should be able to handle the Torque. I have found that with the Gearing and the size tires I am going to be running on this truck I should be able to get around 25 MPG with this setup on the freeway and hopefully not to much less around town. I will Post Pictures when my Engine and Tranny show up.
