my front leaf springs on my f250 are saggin like they are flat almost going the opposite way. should i spring for a small lift kit, and put some new shocks and stuff in it, or try a junkyard for stock ones. i was thinking of putting like 33's on it down the road.
mine were doing that also, so Iordered new ones that took care of the problem plus it raised the truck about 1.5 inches they also sell add a leaf springs that will give you some lift.
Either option would work. I agree with Tuffy new factory spec springs will bring you back up and be about the cheapest. But with this body style having the squared off wheel wells you will need about 2-3 inches over stock to clear 33's. So now may be the opportuned time to get a small lift. Say a 4 inch spring lift in the front and 2 inch blocks in the back. This should level you off and clear 33's. This is of course depending on how much the rears have sagged, you will have to measure before ordering your lift to verify the proper lift blocks required to level the truck.
I used to own an '86 f-250 4x4 lariat. My front leafs also sagged. I ordered and installed brand new leafs and the new leafs, also sagged.
I was later told that some leafs sag on purpose for a more comfortable ride.
my rears look alot better, they also have this one leaf that sticks way up that is supposed to help when the bed has a big load in it.
the soft front springs your talking about, if i had them should the shock be fully compressed?
if i took some measurments of the ride height, like behind the wheel openings to the ground would you be able to tell me if i need new springs or if thats the soft nice ride springs.
