50 mile regen?

Has anyone had a regen last for 50 miles? Today my dpf status was at 90% full but I new I would be hitting the 500 mile mandatory soon, so I switched to my instant mpg monitor. At about the 510 mile mark I started the regen. About 35 miles I switched to the dpf gauge and it was at 0%. I went back to the instant mpg gauge to see when my regen would stop, and it went on for another 15 miles. I have never had a regen last more than 30 miles. I had the cruise set at 70 mph the whole time. I was not towing or hauling anything. Just wondering if anyone else experienced or heard of this.

Was it cold outside? And travelling at fast speeds causes the heat to disipate faster which can prolong a regen. I've found I can complete a full regen in about 10 miles or less in city driving.

Yes it was cold. About 28 degrees. It was my 1st regen below freezing.

It seems strange that if the DPF % is at zero then the regen should be done. Lots of regen Voodoo going on under the covers.

With cold weather and no load, this doesn’t sound outlandish to me either. Totally plausible.
But, I also agree with the regen voodoo comment above. It’s an engineering feat to understand the basics of the regen.

With a Forscan, you can see the games played with the dash display. 99% to 103% shows 99% on the dash. 30% to 95% shows the actual value, rounded up to the nearest 5%. A hair below 30%, the dash drops quickly to 0%. I dont know the exact mapping, but it drops to 0% around 25% for the scanner value.
