Sure, but interestingly enough, the one with the hooks, for which there's at least some more labor and material to put together, is $25 cheaper...

Hooks can be put on. The tailgate on my 54 is a used one that I bought from an older gentleman from California. The hooks were cut off but he welded them back on. But be careful to out them exactly where they need to be. The right hook was too close to the edge of the gate and the clasp on the chain didnt draw tight enough. So when I had Old Betsy painted again in 2016 I had my body man move the hook a little bit to the left.
