Messed Up Tailgate Handle
For some reason this tailgate handle had always been misaligned. I took it apart to try and fix it, retightened it and same deal. I even went to the dealer ship and bought a new one, same deal... Any clues? The tailgate looks perfect no major dents or anything...

The first picture is the drivers side, the second picture is the passenger side. The passenger side of the handle sticks up off the tailgate, nothing major but I've never seen it on any other ford trucks. I took the whole thing off and tightened it back up but it sits back in the same place... Tried buying a new Ford tailgate handle and it did the same thing? Am I missing something?

my 04 nor my dads 00 look like that, they both sit flush. On the bottom of the handle there are little plastic finger tabs that hold the gate metal are you sure you have them under the metal and not on top making the plastic bulge out

Yeah, but its like the plastic fingers on the passenger side dont seem to engage the metal at all...
