A 15” wheel was not a standard option on F-1/F-47 trucks from 1948 to 1952, so whatever you do it will be a custom touch. Coker Tire (and perhaps others) sell reproduction OEM style wheels in various 15” widths, and offsets, that will accept the original “innie” style hub caps. Here is that page from their new catalog. I have a set of 15" , 5 x 5.5 rims, chrome plated. The chrome is not perfect, but pretty good
(some minor corrosion spots). They come with virtually-new tires and the bill of sale for the tires
mounted and balanced.
I guess the procedure is to PM me if you're interested, will make a good price, can send pic.s.
Hope this isn't breaking any Forum rules....
Some some reason, 5x5.5 have become an odd ball configuration. This in spite of the fact they were used by Ford, Mopar, Jeep and others for years. If you are looking for true custom wheels, they are very limited. The manufactures stay mostly with the classic styles, 5 spoke "Crager SS" look and smoothy chrome are the two most common. If you are looking for a custom look, but will accept a stock wheel, there are numerous designs from Ford and Mopar. These include the slotted styles, wagon wheel styles various spokes and other more identifiable designs. As has been stated, Coker and others make a "stock" like steel wheel, that work well. However, most of them will be limited to the stock type widths too. 4 to 5 or maybe 5.5 inches wide. The big issue with the various makers is the center bore. Ford was not the largest and most other maker's wheels will fit, (however some can be tight to the hub). Here's a good chart for what to look for in other than custom wheels.
