Hi I,m new at this and I was wondering if anyone can help me find some 17X7'' 8 bolt rims for my 1950 Mercury 1ton. The tire shop won't put tires on the old split rims so I'm looking for aftermarket ones so I can drive it on the highway. The tires on the front are original so they are alittle bald!!
If you're going to do your truck stock you can use the one piece 16" rims from a 3/4 ton truck of the same vintage. I have the 16" wheels on my F-2 with higher tires and they match up in height to stock F-3 wheels. You will be able to use the same hub caps.
If you're just looking for rims to run on your truck I would assume the multipart rims used on later model trucks would work as long as they aren't the "Widow Maker" two piece split rims.
Thanks bob 49
I didn't think the 3/4 Ton 16" rims fit over the 1 Ton 13
" brake drums but I was trying a newer style not the same vintage so I'm looking for some now.
THANKS MR.1950 M-68
