1 Piece Driveshaft Questions

2005 F350 CCLB 4x4 - the truck frame has been shortened from the original 172in wheelbase to 150inch for a custom project. Originally a 2 piece shaft with carrier.
Checked the forum and it seems most questions are which is better, 2 or 1. Looking for recommendations on a single piece.

Can the 2 piece shaft be cut and shortened into a single shaft? If so, has anyone done it?

I assume the best bet would just be buying a new custom driveshaft, any recommendations? Steel vs aluminum, or best companies to look into?

I would go to your local DS shop and talk to them, they do it for a living and will give you options.

It will likely be a custom driveshaft. I'm sure if all the planets align right just the rear section would work. On average, about 72 inches is max length for a one piece. That can vary due to tube tube diameter or material.
