Some people think that the cheapest kits are no different than the more expensive ones. In this area the tightwads even if there is a problem may not post about it because it is embarrassing. My shop will not even use many manufacturers products because of quality, engineering and or fitment issues. Some things in life you still get what you pay for not to say all cheap lifts are junk but you just have to be careful and do the research BEFORE you spend your money.....

Speaking of only the spacer itself I did do research on the motofab spacer vs the much more expensive spacers. I cannot find any info that tells me why one chunk of billet aluminum is any better than the other. I agree sometimes you get what you pay for but in this case I believe some of the more popular brands are charging a hefty premium for their name.
Now a few years ago I was purchasing a leveling kit for an f150 and Daystar had a spacer made of composite material. The guy at the shop pulled 3 of those kits out that had been returned and they had all been busted. I'm not sure if they offer these for super duty trucks, but I would definitely stay away from them. Stick to an aluminum or steel kit and you should be fine. It's really up to you as to how much you want to spend.

we all are finding that even the prior perceived “quality “ leaders have been sneaking in short cuts and off shore sourcing resulting in vehicles that light up like Christmas trees when ever you drive thru a puddle or park it out in the rain.

but yes, I would pay an extra nickel times the number of wire ends on my truck to have them sealed with a aircraft grade connector.

and sure, offer up spraying dielectric grease on each connector before connecting for another extra nickel and you can sigh me up for that too.

does my fuel cap have to be billet…I think not…if I wanted to steal the fuel I would just drill the bottom of the tank with a right angle drill and and jam a plug with a hose at the center into the hole and pump the fuel out.

billet side steps might be useful…that way we don’t have to look at the “built tough” trainee level chrome plated side steps that peel and look fugly.

Rant over

and now back to our regular broadcast

good morning all

have a wonderful day
