Hey guys. I'm searching for most of the main parameters on the motor. This is what I've seen so far. Along with head flow numbers (got them from another truck website and don't know how accurate they are). Can anyone add anything else? Like maybe psi of the turbo? Thanks.
The engine has a 3.74 in bore and 4.13 in stroke creating a displacement of 365 cu in (6.0 L). It utilizes a variable geometry turbocharger (Garrett GT3782VA) and intercooler, producing 325 hp @ 3,300 RPM and 570 lb⋅ft torque @ 2,000 RPM with an 18:1 compression ratio, with fuel cutoff at 4,200 rpm.
Hey guys, I've not been able to find anything on what the turbo is capable of. I searched Garrett's website and couldn't find it listed under the part number Garrett GT3782VA. Maybe it's listed under a different number. Anyone know what boost pressure it has in stock form?
Pressure is a by-product of restriction, pumps do not produce pressure, so any pressure numbers for a turbo would be dependent on the intake system and engine that turbo is mounted to. Pumps move volume, so I don't think you wouldn find anything other than maybe a CFM measurement at a given RPM and VGT duty cycle from Garrett. International might have recorded some numbers based off their intake system.
Thanks Bryan. I do know PSI is a resistance to flow as well. Like the ability for the motor to get the air out or not. I did find an older thread on here that said a range of boosts people were seeing.
Oh, if that's what you want. MAP table is part the tuning code. You'd need to buy the SCT software and you can adjust it to be whatever you want 28psig is from what I recall a stock upper limit. You can get past it though, especially with mechanical problems on the unison ring.
Thanks Bryan, that's a handy table. So am I correct in saying what the table reads isn't what boost people would see in a stock truck at the referenced MPH. That would be weird. I guess I don't understand.
