add a bigger lift

Hey, I have a 1990 Ford Bronco. It curretly has a 4" lift. I was wondering if it was possible to convert or add to a 6" lift. How much will it cost?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 13-Sep-02 AT 11:19 AM (EST)]I've been thinking about looking into this myself. I think that adding a 2" body lift may be the way I go, instead.

I would not sell it. What I'm asking is how much will it cost to add to my 4" lift to make it a 6" lift!! If it is possible.

You would be better off selling your 4 and buying a 6. I belive all the front parts such as springs, pittman arm etc would have to be traded anyway. But who knows there might be a cheap way to make a 4 into a 6.I dont think bodylifts look good on broncos I would not reccomend one.

What Brand Lift do you have? I know that my Skyjacker lift has holes in the pivot brackets for a 4" and 6" of lift. Would you do the work yourself or would you take it to a shop to have done?
Might be good time to upgrade to things like extended radius arms, if you don't already have them.
I took the cheap way out and threw on a 2" body lift. I wouldn't recommend it.

I am going to upgrade my pro-crap 4 inch to a 6 inch also. All I need is new front springs and additional lift for the rear. Also shocks, brake lines, and front sway bar drop brackets. I have already upgraded to extended radius arms and these can be used with the 4 inch lift springs or the 6 inch lift springs. The axle pivot brackets can be moved down one hole and be re-used also.
Your application may be different, but some lifts are easily upgraded.

Hey, JoeB, what didn't you like about the body lift? Just the way it looks, or is it something else? Let me know! Thanks.

The Body lift was a real PIA to install and it's not really functional other than clearance for tires. Plus it comes with brackets to raise the front bumper but not the back.I'm planning to try and fab up something for the rear. I sure wouldn't want to hit anything with those brackets they supplied for the front bumper. It's a performance Accessories body lift.

Just remember You get what you pay for.;-)

Sound like you are getting some good advice.Scrap the 4" and buy a 6".Trash the sway bars you won't notice the differance and you get better suspension travel too.And be sure to get the radius arm brackets they will help!!!!
