I was backing a trailer up a dirt hill. Had to do a lot of back & forth & stop/starts to get it positioned. Anyway, at one point I went to re-start & after it started I could not move the shift lever out of park. I had to turn truck off, move the key to ON position & then move the shift lever to Neutral to get it started. Also when all this happened the ABS light came on and has stayed on.
Anyone have any clues as to what happened and what the fix is?
If the truck is not starting in park and it is just your ABS light you need to clean or replace the ABS sensor located on top of your differential. There is one bolt that holds it in and then it just pulls out for cleaning or replacement. You may have to pry a little to get it started out. See if that does it and let us know.. I would clean it before replacing. If the truck is not starting in park now it is probably your neutral safety switch and we can tell you how to correct that also if needed. Sandy
The blinking ABS light is giving codes if blinking. When you can, count the number of pulses of the light and note if there are any pauses between the blinks.
Yep, I was going to have him check the brake light fuse. first. #13 I think. And then the boo switch. If he comes back with 16 blinks it is probably the switch or fuse.
