Preventive Maintenance Suggestions

I've removed a lot of pieces from the top of the engine while chasing down a coolant leak. The alternator, ficm, degas, air filter, turbo, intake manifold and fan shroud are out of the way.

This is a 2004.5 build, January 2nd. Truck has 67.5k miles on it. Here's what was done in the past:
Head studs by Ford during head gasket replacement way back during the warranty period.

5,000 miles ago I:
Cleaned the exhaust side of the turbo.
Installed new oil cooler, fan belt, water pump, radiator hoses, thermostat and did an EGR delete.

Last year I replaced the ficm with one from Ed, installed a L-N alternator, new Odyssey batteries and added some additional battery cables.

I'm also changing to Rotella ELC during this maintenance period.

Now while the top of the engine is exposed, I'm open to suggestions for items you think I should consider as preventive maintenance.

You could do an external crank case vent if you're interested.

I found some info from a Google search, and decided to; change the standpipes and dummy plugs, and the STC fitting of the HPOP.

Thanks for the info, I guess I misread something previously. Based on your post, I checked on this again and NO 2004 engines had the STC.
I appreciate your post.

While this engine bay has some temporary space to work in, I looked at the glow plug harness connections and 4 of 8 have been leaking oil, so I pulled both harnesses today. The passenger side plugs all came out unbroken. However, I did have to resort to using an angled pick inside the head to work them out. The driver side harness was a booger. I used the removal tool outside and the angle pick inside the head and still broke 2. That whole job really is the PITA I've read about in multiple threads.

New harnesses and glow plugs are ordered. I read several guys suggested using anti-seize on the new rubber plugs and o-rings, instead of oil. Any opinions on the anti-seize?

Use Motorcraft glowplugs ONLY. Tip failure is catastrophic.

Thanks. The new parts are coming from a Ford dealership.

Yes it is, and can lead to a lot of future frustration you would not expect.
