The A4LD is not french. I don't know who has been spreading that rumor, but the A4LD is based off of the C3 transmission, which was used behind 4 cylinders in pinto's, and 2wd 2.8 rangers.

I have the 2wheel version w/5spd. what mods. to trans. do I need???
Any trans that you want. The C4 auto is the easiest. Read the links I posted at the top of this thread.

Excuse me, the transmission clearly has a tag that states A4OD. Which is made in France and sits behind the 2.9 with 4X4.
