i have a 1986 f250 has a 302 in it and I’m putting a 351w in. the block from it is out of a 1989 bronco. The issue I’m having is the bronco water pump does not have the threaded holes for the brackets for the alternator power steering ext... will the 302 cover swap over or does someone make a universal water pump
I believe the waterpumps do interchange. The front covers also. Be warned though, if you have a bracket that bolts to the front of the head, and also to the waterpump, it's not going to work, the 351w block is taller. So that puts the heads farther away from the waterpump, and changes the brackets.
Also on the waterpumps, make sure the pump matches the belt style you are using. If you have a waterpump that had a smooth pulley on it for a serpentine belt, it's going to turn backwards compared to a regular v-belt or a grooved serpentine pulley waterpump.
