I remember the "eye candy" ads when they started making them in colors...hehe what a concept! I have 3 old-school Rockford amps (10 years old) in my system...
I haven't heard anything about them in years. I have a chance to get a couple of the Tarantula series amps new for a good price. I was wnodering if their products were as good as the old blue Reference series and Class series were.
My roommate had a Soundstream amp. He acted like it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Personally, I thought my Kenwood stomped his into the ground for the value. I guess it's just opinion.
I know I am really late replying to this one....I am using two Soundstream amps in the truck now, Rubicon 500-2 and a Rubicon 1000. No problems what so ever.

Soundstream is crap, I work at a stereo shop and it baffles me the crap companies come out with, if you can find ryval designs or JBl like a 180.2 or a 80.2 or if you are running subs a 150.1 or 300.1's are really nice + they will be going on sale because JBl is coming out with new stuff in 2004
Soundstream is making some amps IMO that are not up to their usual standards. The ones I have used, Reference, Rubicon and higher in their line seem to work very well. The Edge series is not standing up from what I have heard.

The high end soundstream's are a good way to go if you like to be fooled in to their marketing schemes. Most of their amps are for visual enhancement. In other words made to be seen and not heard. The sound quality of there lower line amps leave something to be desired. (found out the hard way $700 leason)
