dump box floor replacement

Looking for opinions on what to replace the floor with in my early 40's dump box. I'm sure I'll use it for getting lumber and maybe even a load of gravel or 2. Dont see myself throwing big rocks or concrete in it. I'm trying to decide between 1/8 or 3/16. I'm not sure what the weight difference between the 2 would be.

Opinions?

Here are the weights of hot rolled steel plate and sheet in pounds per square foot: 3/16" (.1875") plate is 7.66lb; 7 gauge (.1793") 7.5lb; 10 gauge (.1345") 5.63lb; 11 gauge (.1196") 5.0lb; 11 gauge is generally interchangeable with 1/8"(.125"). 11gauge or 10gauge hot rolled sheet steel would be plenty heavy enough for your truck bed floor.

Thanks for the info. I’ll check into 1/8, do they make sheets wider than 4ft?

They make 5x10 and 6x12 and 8x20 sheets. Most new trucks use 1/8" steel in the dump bodies these days. You can order high strength.
