What gauge of steel for floor panels?

I used an old van roof that a buddy of mine was hauling to the bone yard. it is sheet metal pretty close to the same thickness. pretty much whatever you have laying around or can get cheap will work.
thin enough to work with but thick enough to be worth using has always been my perfect fit.

Think twice about doing that.... If I crawled underneath your rig and saw or discovered that I would have to seriously wonder what other repairs were was "cheaped out".

Thanks for the reply. I figured I could easily ( legally, don't worry ) obtain some steel street signs and then sand and cut them. It would be the same as cutting it out of a sheet as it would have a coating put on, top and bottom, after it was welded in. I just don't like the idea of double layering if they were too thin. I'd use them as a last resort because it be just as easy to find scrap steel as it would be to find a sign that wasn't aluminum.
This is sort of the condition of the floor as it currently sits.
