Patch work

I need to patch a couple of spots in my floor board. What gauge of sheet metal should I use?

Most of my body panels are 16ga. I would think anything 16 or heavier would be fine.

BTW - I just found a few holes in my passenger side, so I will be in the same boat.

Not sure about the floor pans yet, but the toe boards are 18 gauge...at least they are on my truck. I mic'd them to be sure.

The thickness is really not that critical on a floor repair, use what you can find and stay with a heavier gauge if you have the choice. I believe that the cab and fenders are closer to 18 ga and the bed is 16 ga...if I had some 14 ga laying around I would use it in a heartbeat, much easier to weld and the difference in thickness it is hardly noticable.
