Who has put a later ICP in a earlier motor and did you get more life out of it? I see diesel tech Ron recommend them in his video. I know the heat from the turbo is what kills them.
Early ICPs do take heat , I thought the Ipr and ICP have the heat shield , the pcm may not recognize the late built ICP , the only problem with late built is the pig tail , Great now that we’re on this discussion my ICP will start leaking ,lol
Video makes me LOL -- I extend the Motorcraft / Int'l (FACTORY) ICPs on the pre-2004s using an approx 1ft tractor hydraulic hose/fittings and have never had problems. Part is readily accessible and easily changed out if need be.
There was someone here who tried doing that with a kit but had leaks. Do you have a part list for that?
Jack -- I used parts sourced from my Kubota Dealer and Tractor Supply Co (should cost around $60) --- I used std 5000 psi hydraulic hose which is more than double the working pressure the HPOP can build (on a good day)
I believe several vendors have kits already made up -- here's one and I know there's another in TX.............
That vendor kit is the one that leaked for someone. I suggested that too.
The hose I don’t think is much of an issue, and I remember finding a fitting at the motor connection, I think to JIC. It was the sensor end that I could never find a comfortable fitting for.

Yes, LOL.
Does anyone else see the irony in that extra seal in the pigtail kit?
That has nothing to do with the issue on the early sensor. It leaks inside the plug. That extra seal is nothing more than window dressing.
I installed the later sensor on the boys truck. It's held up so far.
I actually find that getting at it from underneath is easier.
