Tranny swap

I just picked up a 2000 f350 primarily for the solid axle. So I can make my 97 a 4x4. Is the 4r100 auto tranny a solid tranny and would it be worth putting it in my truck or should I rebuild the zf manual that I have. Also the motor in the 2000 gas 330,000 miles. What is a fair price for it

The gas 4r100 will have different bell housing bolt pattern than the diesel 4r100. I'm sure you can get adapter plates to bolt together but you still have torque converter differences ect probably not worth it. the 4r100 is good so if you want an auto find one out of a diesel rig or buy new. Monster trans has them for about 1500 bucks which i thought was cheap. I dont know if that brand is any good just ran across while doing google research. still need a torque converter, stand alone controller (about 600 bucks) flex plate and tps signal. I'm planing on putting one behind my 6.9 bronco project. Still not exactly bolt and go but i think the combo will be great for a daily driver and weekends at the dunes.
